Can you use two ¥7,900 tickets for an Osaka–Hiroshima day trip?

For the same traveler on the same date, do not budget a ¥15,800 return using two overlapping Sanyo Shinkansen discounted one-way tickets. The purchase and exchange rules prohibit overlapping use periods. Choosing separate outbound and return departures does not remove that restriction. JR-West product rules

Same day: compare three suitable combinations

A Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass has a published adult price of ¥17,000 and covers five consecutive days. A regional pass can still be a useful candidate for a one-day trip; using every day is not the requirement. Confirm that your trains and route are covered. Official pass

The other candidates are one discounted ticket with a standard ticket in the other direction, or standard tickets for both directions. Use a standard fare checked for your actual date and seat. The calculator does not infer live seat availability.

If your checked standard ticket is ¥10,750 and both sellers explicitly charge no additional fee, the mixed combination is ¥7,900 + ¥10,750 = ¥18,650. Compared with a ¥17,000 pass and no pass fee, the pass is ¥1,650 lower in that example. Change either fare or the fees and the result can change. This is arithmetic for entered costs, not a Klook price quotation.

Different dates: the starting comparison changes

Two eligible discounted one-way tickets used on separate, non-overlapping dates total ¥15,800 before additional costs. Compared with ¥17,000, that leaves a ¥1,200 gap. Additional local rides, ferry travel, seller fees and journeys outside a pass's five-day window belong in the comparison. Accommodation is a separate expense, not a reason to manufacture a ticket saving.

Check your seller's exact route option, dates, final total and exchange instructions before paying. The amount used in the calculator does not promise that seller's inventory or price.
